Cost of Postage Stamps

This is a follow up to my question on 30.06.09 re cost of postage stamps.
I have had a definite answer from Royal Mail, which goes as follows :
If the trader buys his stamps from the Royal Mail, her is bound by their T's & C's, which do not allow him to sell stamps at more than their face value. However, if he buys from another retailer (ie Tesco), he can sell them for whatever he wants - Royal Mail don't like this, as it makes them look bad.
They also stated that they investigate all claims of overcharging.

That's genuinely useful to know, thanks. I remember your original post- it's not a question I'm often asked, but when I am, I'll look clever! The answer makes sense too, as if A buys them from (B) Tesco, A isn't bound by C (Post Office's) contractual rules under the rules on privity of contracts and third persons. Makes one wonder how you'd know when you're buying them from the local offy though!
