ABH sentencing

I will cut a very long story short, I was out with my friends in a bar on Saturday night, We was having a good time, then a group of other lads started arguing with my friends. At this point it had absalutly nothing to do with me. This 1 boy kept saying to my friends 'lets take this outside etc'. Out of no where 1 of my friends punched the boy and the boy fell to the floor, in the comotion i got punched or pushed and i fell on top of the boy who was on the floor, I reacted and punched the boy (who was on the floor) a couple/few times in the head. I got kicked out of the bar and then i got arrested for ABH.

I spent the night in the cell and had a interview in the morning, i said i did not need a solictor and admitied punching him a couple of times in the head. After the interview the police said he is not pressing charges and there is no cctv. The boy suffered a swollen/black eye, a few bruises and a little cut lip. He did not need any stitches or hospital treatment.

The police got a witness statement and the person said i was punching him a few times in the head but there was also another bloke hitting him aswell. The police granted me bail because they said they want to get a couple more statements from 2 other witnesses.

I am not a violent person and have never been arrested for assault before, 5 years ago i got arrested twice in the space of 3 months for drunk and disordly, i went to court and got a 300 pound fine, but i have never been in any trouble since. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I have to answer bail in 3 weeks and am very worried what will happen, can anybody tell me wot will happen when i answer bail and if i got to court, and that is ' if ' i go to court.

i did not have a solicitor in the interview, i just addmitied punching him a couple of times in the head...

Yeah i am not a violent person, i have never been in a fight before, but as i got pucnhed or ushed to the floor i just reacted.

I dont really no, just the first thing i done was hit him a few times, i must have just saw red, im not completly sure he was already on the floor, we myte have both bin hit as pretty much same time.
