I'm going to spend some time over the next few months, raiding LoveFilm and Netflix for the best 'twist in the tale' films, and I'd like to get a head start with a list of films to view.

I've already seen quite a few (No Way Out, The Sixth Sense, Passengers, The Others, The Village, Orphan, Identity, Les Diaboliques), and need to compile a list the next lot to view.

Any suggestions?

Is is true that the film "Something's got to give" with Marilyn Monroe was never finished as she died before the end of filming?

The previous post reminded me of this sad fact.

Okay - now more than one person has mentioned A Beautiful Mind, andim going to stick that at the top of my list because I assumed it was a straightforward biopic about a fella who was a genius, but was troubled.

Very curious now...!
A beautiful mind is only very very loosely based on Nash - good film.

Have you seen "The prestige" try that if you haven't

I liked Vanilla Sky don't know why everyone panned it
I'm with Mazie on this one - Jagged Edge

From IMDB:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0217055/
Unfinished remake of "My Favorite Wife," due to the firing of Marilyn Monroe from the film. She was eventually re-hired, but died in August, 1962. Film was never completed ... Most of the footage was unseen, until it was restored into a 37-minute short which aired on television on June 1, 2001
Duplicity, with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen.

Yep - loved The Prestige, and have seen it at least three ties. It's a film that bears repeated views (and besides, it's directed by Christopher 'Give Him An OBE' Nolan).

Hmmm...not heard of Duplicity. Will add it to my ever-growing list.
I seem to rmember that "Deathtrap" has a twist at the end (I think). It has Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve in it and I remember enjoying it.
i would suggest field of dreams.its not a thriller/twist movie, but, because of the whole baseball thing, the ultimate scenes floored me.not what i was expecting at all and ended up with me having to leave the room. it hit home too much.
Has anyone mentioned Bonny And Clyde yet ? If not
...Bonny And Clyde !
sixth sense for me too
The Others with Nicole Kidman.
I'd like to recommend a British film called Retreat with Cillian Murphy, Thandie Newton and Jamie Bell. Very good film with a twist.

Law Abiding Citizen; brilliant film and twist (although I hardly ever work out twists!)
Secret Window has a twist but got awful reviews; I found it watchable.
Dont think anyone has mentioned the rather brilliant "Dead Man Shoes" which is surprising, it stars the wonderful Paddy Considine and was directed by Shane Meadows and is British, fantastic twist ending!
ooh dead man's shoes is an amazing film! I always guess twists, but didn't with that one.
You won't beat The Usual Suspects.
'fracture' .. ryan gosling and anthony hopkins.

'hostel 2'
