I must say that I was somewhat disappointed , in the whole feel of the movie .
There is supposed to be something about a 007 movie , that makes it different to other movies – isn’t there ?
Skyfall was just like any other action movie , nowadays – yes , lots of explosions , but it lacked a certain je ne sais quoi
I'd agree, although because i never liked what made Bond films significant - the 'humour', the cliched lifestyle, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, that kind of thing - i was happy to watch an action film that had a lead character called Bond.
If you approach it like that, it's OK - not wonderful, but OK.
Personally I was getting a little bored with the whimsical style of Bond movie which seemed to exist in a parallel more fantastical universe and had struggled to stay fresh after 45 years of gadgets and Dr Evils.
Clearly the newer movies are influenced by Bourne but still retain an element of 'enhanced reality' and scale.
Skyfall is one of the best Bond films ever, it's certainly one of the most successful both in terms of box-office and critical acclaim.
I have always hated Bond films - have never managed to watch one past the first 20 minutes or so. Just completely boring. Would like to see this one as it would seem it is different (and especially as Daniel Craig is Bond - which is the real pull of the film for me!!).
I thought it was great entertainment, brilliant Bond debut for Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig just gets better and better as a cold, steely ruthless Bond.
Apparently Mendes is already on board to do the next one too.
Ha, ha, Chill Doubt. Cold is even better! I posted my last answer before I saw yours Chill Doubt. Getting to the soft centre is a worthwhile challenge!!
Always did go for blue eyed fair or fairish haired blokes Fluffy. And forget the body, it's his face that does it for me. Really dark hair is a real no no.
