How do i get to work as an actress, i like acting but dont know how to go about it.

For the most part you will need an Equity ( the Actor's Union ) Card.

Without a card it is difficult to get work, and without work it is difficult to get a card.

I think you need three acting job before you can get a card, but check with Equity about this.

The best bet is to join an amiter dramatics group and gain some experience. When you feel ready, invite some agents to come and see you perform on the stage. You will need an agent to get work.

Lastly remember that about 70% of actors are out of work, so have another career as a back-up.

Your best bet would be to join a local drama group or if you are serious about this then it's worth while looking at Drama schools.

There is a paper called "The Stage" which is aimed at people in the acting profession or are intrested in acting.They advertise drama classes,drama schools & auditions amongst other things.

You can buy this paper  at Borders Books & i'm pretty sure it's available through WH Smith.
