I've just finished The Secret of Crickley Hall...and quite enjoyed it.

I read a book of his years ago I think it was called Moonstone, scared the crap out of me !.

I've read several on maggies list - they are certainly scary, for example in one of them the pupils at a school cut off the teacher's ................ no, I won't spoil it for you.

...but which book was it??
I really enjoyed Ash, and the Ghosts of Sleath - featuring the David Ash who is a psychic investigator - 'they' reckon this is one of the best ghost stories ever written.
Sorry, pf, but I honestly can't remember - it might have been The Fog but I'm not sure.
He's a nice guy, very unassuming, not scary at all!
I read The Rats years ago when I used to commute on London underground, at night watching little things scurrying about Aldgate station.
