New sequel to Pillars of the Earth starts on C4 tonight at 9pm.
Used to love that prog and having Rufus Sewell and Eddie Redmayne in it, made it even more watchable!
Are you going to be watching the new programme tonight?

I'm going to have to answer this one myself as I don't want to go into the Unanswered section, I've been in there before!
Well I watched it and didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as Pillars of the Earth.
I read both books years ago. (Decades ago in the case of Pillars). The TV production of PoTE, was a huge disappointment. I read WWE a few years ago, and the rape scenes tonight are, mercifully, less vivid than the book.
I've taped it but didn't watch Pillars of the Earth, missed it somehow.
will it make sense to watch it without having seen the previous programmes?
Question Author
Yes shoemad it will make sense as I think it's set 400 years later and so none of the original cast or storylines are the same.
There seems to be an awful lot more violence in this and I can't believe that the swear words used would have been used in those times.
