It is on Lorraine now.
After seven episodes last night's effort was an anticlimax.
I think I'm becoming a moaning old trout, this is the second recent series I've hated ( but not as much as the village), but it has cheered me on to write some screenplays.
I disagree. I found the final episode extremely powerful with some award winning acting from Olivia Coleman. I always thought of her previously of being better at comedy - how wrong can you be.
The fact that the murderer was revealed quite early on in the last episode, I thought a good thing. This was not just a story about Whodunit, it was a study of grief and guilt,
It left a lot of unanswered questions. The plumbers mate who worked with the dead boys dad - what was the relevance of the end of last weeks episode when the daughters bf said he had often seen Danny and the plumbers mate in the woods late at night and he thought they knew, and they didnt. What was that all about??
Sounds as if I made the right decision not to watch this. Seems to have disappointed the majority of viewers. I'll stick to a good book.
It was a fantastic series, very much in the ilk of the killing or the bridge.
smowball I think it was because the plumbers mate and the detectives husband looked alike, that had misled a lot of people.
The story was good and the acting was tremendous.
Well i for one wont be watching the follow on to this series. I found the last episode like waiting for a big firework and only getting a damp squid!

Well thats told me alot lol
Snowball, Danny used to go poaching with Nige (the plumber's mate) late at night.
the killer was Ellie husband Jo (ellie is the detective) he and danny had got close, and he said he loved him - he gave him the £500 he claimed nothing sexual had happened just hugging, Joe killed him by accident (sort of) and then got rid of the body,

and david tennant flared his nostrils a lot

Thank you Mccfluff, he must have liked young boys
i thought it was too drawn out, but the ending with Olivia Coleman was outstanding, that had such a ring of truth about it, as did the scene with Andrew Buchan, his rage was palpable.
-- answer removed --
i thought it was very good.
Lots of loose ends.
Intended?
Yes again, like The Viillage, I got very confused through all of the weeks episodes and last night was no better.
Oh good grief, I only watched the first one and already the policewoman's husband was dodgy. Sounds like I didn't miss much.
