For a long time now, I've been saying that at 61 I'm too young to listen to Radio 2,
OH has been telling me I'm missing some good music etc. for the same length of time, so
I tuned in for the 10:00 news, so far, so good, then
on came Graham Norton!

It's going to take a while before I pluck up the courage to go there again!

Lol. You're definitely too young for Graham Norton. Cover your ears! :-)
weekday radio two is good, IMO it goes to pot at the weekends after about 9am
You picked a bad time to try it, I turn it off at 10.00am on Saturdays after the excellent Sounds of the Sixties. In the week it is really good, even my 30 year old son listens to it now as he drives for a living and needs good listening.

I will say, in his favour,
he has the perfect face for Radio.
;o)
Can't stand Graham Norton bit do like Sounds of the 60s - reminds me of my youth!
That's a shame Balders. Mr Norton is not representational of the usual standard of Radio 2. Thank goodness.
Irritating little man isnt he!
I watch his BBC One chat show purely because he tends to have good guests but its all a bit cringe!!
I love Graham Norton!

Ah, ^^^^^^^^^^^ you're the One!
Ha ha. What do you listen to Balders?

Heart and Capital,
but have TV 24hr news in background more often than not.
Listen to Radio 2 most of the time. 8 - 10 am on a Saturday morning is fab. Sounds of the Sixties takes me right back. Can take or leave Graham Morton.
They're the two commercial channels I listen to when I can't get R2. Or when GM is on! V similar playlists to R2, but not as extensive.
Can't and won't listen to commercial radio. Ads get me annoyed. And always mute ads on TV,too!
What I dislike is when the show presenter has 'chats' with the weather /traffic girls. Forced inane comments, pathetic attempts at smutty jokes, all weak and embarrassing. I am turning to Classic these mornings, after Today show is finished. But I do like Graham!
graham norton on the radio, don''t we have enough of him on the box.
Pips1 - interested in that Sounds of Sixties - if you turn it off at 10.00 am - what time does it start Radio 2. Thanks
pips seen maggiebees answer to that - not that I am up that early tho.
Sounds of the sixties is a great programme with a great presenter who clearly loves his music from that era. I wonder if Brian Matthew will ever retire- he must be well into his 70s now
