To be honest, I wasn't really looking for thoughts on the joint enterprise law. I was more interested in it as a piece of drake. However, what it did (and this is a sign of good writing) is that it made me want to know more about the subject.
As the mother went onto her PC to look up 'joint enterprise', so did I, and I can imagine a few other viewers around the country doing the same.

I remember watching a documentary about a young boy who was imprisoned for murder, although he was not near the incident at the time. It was local to me, a young boy was stabbed to death... The said boy who was charged with murder, but not there at the time, had instigated the whole thing by texting and BB messaging all his mates to come to the area and attack the boy who ended up being stabbed. He was charged with the murder, as if he had not told everyone to come along, it would not have happened.
the alternative, as I see it, is for the gang of scrotes, sorry, suspects to say 'no comment' to every question and if the police cant prove who delivered the fatal blow to either release them or charge them with a lesser offence. In reality there's no honour between thugs so this law helps get to the truth of things without actually being used.
