Simon Cowell has not got an O.B.E, M.B.E, C.B.E or a knighthood.

Leaving aside what you might think of his television output...don't you think it's odd that he doesn't have *anything* after his name?

Even if you think his shows are complete toilet - he's made a shed load of money for the UK in terms of acts he's promoted*...so don't you think he deserves something?

*Yes, I know, we have him to blame for One Direction, but that's not 100% his fault.

No
Don’t know, don’t care....wouldn’t care if he vanished from the earth right now.
Who?
You may have a point. But I'd tend to look at it from a different viewpoint. It's more odd honours are handed out simply for getting some success in the entertainment industry.
No I don't think it is odd.
Are you seriously bored tonight, sp?
What does it matter, after all he has the X factor...
I've heard of him. He must have a lot of money after his name at the top of his bank statements. Don't remember him doing anything to serve/profit the country.
No.
an award from the Cayman Islands Governor would be more appropriate....MTD perhaps, Member of Tax Dodging....
what about ....*** ?
I can think of a few letters to go after his name
Beaten to it by pp and Bert.

Okay...so I'm alone in this.

Yes Jackdaw33...I've lost control of the flipping remote control and I'm not being allowed to watch Modern Family.

You've got me.
Awards, like the ones you mentioned should be reserved for people that have gone beyond the call of duty in the execution of their jobs. Like Firemen, Life Boats staff, etc ,etc, not self-serving members of the entertainment profession.

The rot set in when the Beatles were awarded their gongs.
He has done nothing that is not for his own self interest. No 'service to the public'.
Oh the delicious irony. sp you have got mikey "lobaur in chief" pointing out the vagaries of the award system. Stop, stop.
Why does he deserve an award? Successful I his chosen career. Nothing more.
He might have declined an offer.
I don't think he deserves anything.
