Personally I find him about as amusing as root canal surgery with no anaesthetic, but that aside, if he is one of the most popular (and wealthy) comedians in the country, why is it beyond the powers of the people who dress him to go on stage, to put him a suit that fits him properly?

A slim-fitting tailored suit looks good on a tall slim man, on Mr Macintyre, he looks like ten pounds of potatoes in a six-pound bag.

Not really, Tony, people clearly like him.
I know.
He gets a prime time slot because a lot of people like him, me included, and we turn on our TVs to watch him. I have to say, I prefer his observational standup, but he just makes me laugh!
Regarding his stage suits, I think it's just a part of his stage character.
Do you really think so, Tony?...I think he looks a bit like Tweedledum.....or Dee.....x
Never watched him, so not funny .
How do you know he's not funny if you've never watched him?
Mmmmmm, could maybe go for a size larger, gness.
Telepathy ummmm.
Even ///a-h/// couldn't stay on this thread!

choux - I assure you I can, just nipped off for my monthly bath, I'm back now.

To be clear, I am not at all bothered that I don't like Mr McIntyre's humour, that is subjective, and I accept his huge popularity.

I also have no issue whatsoever with his build, or the weight he carries - personal choice again.

My OP concerns the fact that his suits are manifestly unsuited to his height and shape, but it appears that this is part of the 'character' he offers.

Since I never actually watch or hear him, I cannot comment on that, I simply observe that he looks like he has been squeezed into someone else's very expensive suit, and he's giving the seam stitchings a serious work-out!

Sadly the days of Jack Benny, Bob Monkhouse (to name just 2) with a more demure delivery and excellent wardrobe are long gone.

Mind you, Norman Wisdom always got on my pip. What a scruff!
P.S. Did you remember behind your ears?

douglas - Ooooohhhh!

Suit you sir,

and not as so many people say incorrectly - Suits you sir.

These things matter!
And yet..................
I love him - small suit and all. Find him extremely funny.
It's all the rage now to wear your little brother's suits, a la Norman Wisdom. Some really 'clever' people do it, like that tramp who presents Newsnight...
His suits fit well & dont pukker around his neck like so many mens suits do.
