Did anyone watch the first episode of this new drama last night? If so, I'd be interested to hear what you thought of it. Personally was a bit confused but hopefully all will become clear as the weeks go on.

I was looking forward to it but I'm afraid I switched off after about 40 mins. The script was not good and Baptiste annoyed me with his philosophical cliches . A waste of Tom Hollander too. I sound a bit grumpy don't I !

Rosie, you are me! I switched off around 9.40 but was reading a live forum that was chatting about it and apparently the last 15 mins had lots going on and it got really good, a bit of a twist with Tom H! I will watch the last 20 minutes tonight.

haven't watched it yet but confusion may be caused if you didn't watch the previous series 'the missing'

I didn't see "The Missing" and understand (from Radio Times) that it makes little difference....because there is no link between the two series, apart from the main character, of course.
I think any confusion stems from the several plot lines, which (at this stage) seem unconnected....but which will prove to be so, soon.

I was feeling like you maggie, but stuck with and I was glad I did. I felt it was 'ponderous' but the last few minutes - well!!!!

Frankly I hated it. It was violent, nasty and depressing and I won't be wasting any more time on it. I enjoyed The Missing, but this was grim.

^^^lots of us don't like drama series to be all fluffy, nice and relaxing - give me a bit of "nasty" anytime!

I don't want all my drama to be 'fluffy ' either gingejbee. Series like The Missing, The Unforgotten, The Bodyguard et al are not 'fluffy ' but are enjoyable. It's just that unnecessarily violent and unremittingly grim drama I find unwatchable.

I don't think it was unnecessarily violent or confusing. I enjoyed it.
