Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

In the new version, whenever a contestant phones a friend Clarkson informs the audience that the friend has a member of the programme’s staff (or something to that effect) with them to ensure fair play. Well, it appears about 10 people a night are in the studio trying to become contestants, and if each contestant has three friends for phoning, does that mean that 30 members of ITV staff are sent around the UK to stand by in case....?

I find it hard to believe they send 30 members of ITV staff around the Country just in case their friend A) actually even gets in the chair and B) decides to call them.

There has been a question regarding Millionaire before.Think it was on AB. How the whole programme is made in stages .
When I was watching Classic Millionaire on Freesat a few weeks ago, one of the contestants got to about the fifth/sixth question and she was wearing a red blouse. Then we had the break and to my amazement ,when it came back on she was wearing a white blouse. The same thing happened again in a later programme---Man wearing a coloured shirt, adverts.break, man wearing different coloured shirt.
Another thing is that the person answering the questions always has a relative in the audience and Jeremy always knows everything about that person even though he is not supposed to know who is going to win the 'fastest finger first'. This programme is probably pre-recorded and pieced together.

TonyV: "Heard it was a bit staged to get a big winner on first show." I have always held the belief that when quiz shows return after a break, there is nearly always a big winner on the first show. It's the 'hook' that pulls in viewers. How many, i wonder, watched last night WWTBAM simply because they had seen the adverts regards the million pound question. Last night's episode was recorded in January and it will be interesting if any of the forthcoming episodes were recorded earlier.
