I believe virtually every "celebrity" versions of quiz programmes are heavily scripted.

A) She wasn't sure if it was Maria Callas so went for Richard Nixon. How is that proof of it being scripted?

B) Why the Uncle Buck would it be scripted?

Katie Dedham is a fan of classical music and will have known that it was Maria Callas.Furtherto this on Saturday evening Lizzie Webb and John Kettley when presented with an opposites question thought that the opposite to he hates me was She loves me by the Beatles.We are being conned here.Following on from New Judges comment a question will come up on the Chase celebrity and they’ll say “Oh I’ve just been reading his book.”

I've been in the audience at celebrity recordings of The Chase and Pointless.

I can assure you they are not scripted.

Hopkirk, I'm interested that you've been in the audience. How big are the picture clues, particularly when there is a board with a lot of faces? I think I'd struggle to see them at that distance, it's bad enough on the TV if they're not clear photos.

They have a 15min break in filming to study those picture boards. (on Pointless anyway)
Most celebrity quizzes are scripted, rehearsed and then edited down from 2hrs of filming.

what possible purpose is there to scripting? I don't buy it, Ocam's razor and all that. I know it's a human condition to invent conspiracy theories everywhere but I can't see why it would scripted what possible purpose could that serve?

I believe hoppy. I don't know for a fact but I cannot see any possible reason to script/fix a quiz show, celeb or not, it serves no purpose. People are thick/bright on their own accord and coincidences do occur.
