Wow, it's changed my opinion. I now think he did have something to do with it. The police admit to messing up at the time and losing vital evidence. Also, could they not get DNA from Stuart Lubock, i.e. semen samples as he apparently was raped ?? DNA wasn't mentioned at all, which I find odd. What do others think ?

Not run off and leave a dead guest lying in your swimming pool might be one?

retrocop - // I am sure it was mentioned that some blood was seen on a pair of shorts after the death. Did I imagine that? //
From memory, I understand that Mr Lubbock's body was dressed in boxer shorts, and also wrapped in a towel, both of which were blood-stained.
That does rather beggar the question that the police should have suspected foul play, rather than a simple accidental drowning.

There may have been someone there who covered that criteria, we weren't there, so we don't know.
// The heroic Barrymore didn't jump in the pool to retrieve the body or attempt to resuscitate. He claimed he couldn't swim.Since been disputed by friends and ex wife. //
It's clear that Mr Barrymore panicked and left the scene, which is inexcusable by any measure.
His apparent attempt to avoid responsibility for dealing with Mr Lubbock's situation - Barrymore may not have known he was dead, again, we don't know, simply adds to that inexcusable response.

Surely they could have taken DNA from the body. Talking about the mortuary, I worked at the Co-op many years ago and talking to a colleague who knew another colleague who worked in there. Was told numerous stories about what was happening in there with the bodies. I was quite disgusted that people would behave like that doing foul acts behind closed doors..

Undoubtedly the police will have taken DNA from Mr Lubbock's body.
As I understand it, the pathologist believes that Mr Lubbock died from trauma caused by the insertion of an inanimate object into his body - obviously that will carry no DNA, so does not indicate the identity of the perpetrator, and as it turns out, murderer.
