Wow, it's changed my opinion. I now think he did have something to do with it. The police admit to messing up at the time and losing vital evidence. Also, could they not get DNA from Stuart Lubock, i.e. semen samples as he apparently was raped ?? DNA wasn't mentioned at all, which I find odd. What do others think ?

Not run off and leave a dead guest lying in your swimming pool might be one?

I didn't see the programme but if the poor lad was raped in the heavily chlorinated pool would there be much DNA evidence?
I might get this on catch up, OH refuses to watch anything about him whereas I have always liked him, I will watch it tomorrow, thanks HereIam
That’s a good point Barry
Something needs to be put right, lets hope who knows what happened is keen to get 40k reward for info.
I remember Barrymore saying that Stuart must have been raped post mortem at the mortuary. Vile, vile man
The two items they believe may have done the damage to his internal parts, went missing.
Yes teacake44 I agree with you.

The police seem to think he was raped and murdered in the jacuzzi and then thrown in the pool to look like he drowned. I don't know about chlorine destroying DNA evidence barry, but I always thought that even the very tiniest amount of DNA can solve a murder, sometimes many years on.

I used to like him too Bobbs and always felt sorry for him, but after watching this excellent programme, I am now not so sure.

barry 13:37, I simply couldn't believe he said that - I was so shocked ...
Not sure what they call these people that study a video of suspects being interviewed to valuate weather or not they may be guilty, but I guess they must have done this, the amount of times they have interviewed Barrymore and others.
The police investigation was badly handled. The crime scene wasn't secured and articles were apparently removed by M B's p a.
I got the impression that the case might be 're opened as loyalties may have changed "

The case is still ongoing Rosie they have never closed it. I think that's what it will take now, a witness coming forward and finally telling the truth.

That's a good point teacake, wonder if they've done that ?
Yep Rosie, the case ( has) been reopened, there is a fresh detective on it, hence the £40 reward. Barrymore had a lot of hangers on, and some of them were there that night. Now his money has dried up, one or two of them may like to get their hands on 40k.
I used to love watching Barrymore. Found him so funny. I can't stand to look at him now.
Poor poor Stuart....
Sorry no link but BBC news app says police now have new information after offering £20 000 reward.
Money talks. :0)
I think the documentary was slanted pretty much to infer that Mr Barrymore knows more about what happened than he has said thus far.

I always found him as amusing as root canal surgery, but that aside, there is clearly more to be uncovered from this dreadful evening than he, or anyone else, has said up to now.
He certainly won't be orwhite knowing this is back on track.
What would be the point in someone studying videos to see if he is telling the truth or not. I don't believe findings of such studies are admissible as evidence in a court of law.
My opinion, for what it's worth, is that Barrymore knows much, much more than he has revealed to the police. Not saying he is a murderer. But he might know someone who is.
Although hearsay the Cab driver's offering of what Barrymore is alleged to have said on way from the pub with his guests to his house would obviously sway a jury's deliberations. Leaning forward from the rear seat and saying,"I fancy a f... tonight", in the cabbies ear.
