Watching it now. What a superb upbringing for those children. Amanda is one very clever lady (I think Mr J2 is a bit in love with her) and she has single-handedly pulled this farm out of the mire.

I live in a rural area and know someone who knows the family and who said that it had been in a fairly bad way, before this very clever lady got the bit between her teeth - and she manages to look glamorous as well - decolletage in the barn!

A very astute young woman and a very attractive one too
Didn’t she used to be a model? I saw the family 8 years ago on a show Ade Edmondson presented.
Great series, not one bad kid among them, hats off to the parents!
I don't get this sort of programme. Same with all those series that concentrate on people's job such as Ice Road Truckers. A one hour programme is enough for me to get a snapshot of their lives, I don't need to know the ins and outs.
Give me a good drama or comedy any day, or a wildlife documentary.

Barry I think we'll see a lot more of little Clemmie the second youngest ( I hope) what a lovely little girl who wants to learn all the time, and the quiet 'fixer' Reuben who is showing younger brother Sid the way to mend things , Clive and Amanda are instilling qualities in their 9 children and to see it happen, is uplifting
i only caught a glimpse of it but what do they farm to enable them to bring up a family that large.

They're hill sheep farmers C@C
Sheep mainly, I think.
Also got the TV series and Amanda writes books.
Great family. Really well brought up children. A big, happy family.
I don't agree with exposing children to the media but I am a very private person.
CrapAt, they have been on our tv since 2012, Amanda has written three books. The family is regularly in the printed media and Amanda is becoming a regular panellist on The Jeremy Vine tv show.
I admire how they bring up their children. They always have time for them not just shoving them in front of a tv or computer screen with a bag of sweets or burger which seems to be the norm for a lot of children these days. Children have lost the art of communication. They are an inspiring family with hopefully a lovely future.
absolutely loved this programme ,what happy contented children x
thank you. I didn't know there were books.

Me either woof, I'll look on Kindle now
I bought OH 'The Yorkshire Shepherdess' for Christmas - he's loved it. She didn't have quite as many children when that was written.
They live in the nest Dale over from us as and I used to see Amanda with the kids in Barnie or Reeth. She's very good at selling the product, which is her family and her 'life', but all the children in this area on Farms are brought up the same, her family is not 'exceptional', they just have a very clever Mummy x
They don't own their farm, its tenanted, around 2000 acres owned I think by Zetland Estates and run around 700 Ewes I believe. Its always been a good farm, never run down or in a bad way -Lord Zetland would not let that happen.
'next' not nest lol!
I think they’re exceptional in that there’s nine of them, and they all come across as getting on with each other, as well as what they’re encouraged to do on the farm.
I can’t imagine there are too many farms which have nine children, all appearing to work together and actually enjoying it.
Mummy is indeed, or appears to be, very astute but that doesn’t detract from the how nice the children are.

Those kids are gorgeous and have a very individual character shining through
