Seriously - it is a clear conflict of interest and I am pleased that the new DG is cracking down.
I have no issue with anyone making as much money as they can for as long as they can - I would never say "She is paid this much so she shouldn;t be earning on the side. My attitude is, you have a limited shelf life in your chosen career, make the money while you can.
But that does not mean you can make money anywhere and everywhere.
As has been advised, clear conflicts of interest could arise from the choice of employer Ms Munchetty has made, and if she wants to remain as a credible BBC journalist, her impartiality has to be clearly visible.
I am all for the new DG getting the ship steering the right way - and shedding the masses of pointless bureauocrats will be an excellent start.
The TV series W1A made a fabulous job of creating nonsensical job titles - less amusing when you read that the BBC does it for real!!
