They spend about 2 or 3 minutes at the beginning of every show, showing clips of what's coming up, why? I'm sure this never used to happen and I don't need to know, I will take it as it comes.

Most series shown on Netflix have a 'skip intro' button. If you can remember what happened in previous episodes - and if you can't, then you're not really watching it - you can skip up to 2 mins of reminders :-)
Ken that's different "Previously on...." is actually useful as a reminder especially if there has been a week since the last episode. It's the spoiler that annoys.
TTT, i don't know anyone who watches tv series on Netflix in weekly instalments. 6 Episodes = 2 nights max; 8 - 10 Episodes = 3 nights (4 at a push) :-)
fair enough I was more thinking of those shows that are on normal TV weekly. They also do the netflix style, "previously..." . Usually a new show, like Billions for example.
I agree dave50. I never watch anything live because it is so annoying. Michael Portillo's rail journeys not only have loads of junk before the title comes up, but then there is a run through of what you are going to see as well!! I got really fed up when the Antiques Roadshow started to do it too. It spoils the show.
I presume they do it because we have followed the US example of TV being financed and controlled by commercial interests, so everything is geared to grabbing the attention of the lowest common denominator and keeping them glued to the same channel for as long as possible: the programme content is not valued apart from its being able to keep the consumers, so programmes are dumbed down and any interruption to their attentions span is combatted by 'coming up' and after the break 'here's where we were, in case you've forgotten.' Mrs Thatcher's dream really, bread and circuses will help them not to think.
I just knew it would be TGL's fault! PMSL!
TTT Nice to know I got a result. I'll let you go and change your trousers now.
TTT; by the way, is it true that you spend a lot of time in Spoons? If not I won't mention it again.
no I don't spend a lot of time in spoons.
"Surely it's to give you time to brew a cuppa and settle down."

At every occasion?? I'd miss the rest of the programme with my toilet trips!
I remember on I’m A Celebrity years ago, they did a “coming up” which showed Joe Swash half way up a difficult obstacle. We were all waiting to see if and how he made it because the start of it was difficult, but the clip completely ruined the excitement.

Grrr
Bargain Hunt tells you all beforehand, have to record it and whizz through. Very annoying just let us watch the shows we don’t want previews!
TTT; OK, I won't mention s****s again.
Excruciatingly realistic Cloverjo ;-)
Why the BBC short clip, ''This is who we are........''
Total BS.
don't worry yourself mate it's of no consequence. I tend to go to the spoons for breakfast when I'm in s strange town. I prefer a different boozer locally.
