I did 15-1 and didnt win ( the prog)
the one who did - who was good I confirm - said he was doing an astrophys course - fourth year
and being impish I commented they are all 3 yr courses at British universities and he said
yes I failed my first year as I spent too long in pubs doing quizzes!
that really took the edge off my late middle age love affair with quiz shows.

Unless you happen to know the subject inside out I find Pointless totally pointless. In fact specialist subjects on Mastermind have easier questions on most subjects. It is not a general knowledge quiz, which is why most of us watch quizzes - not to see how others do but to test our own knowledge. Have to agree though that last night's Tipping Point had me pebble dashing the keyboard with my tea. You forgot the 'Earl' question too!
daves question
because the third has less choice - and likely to be harder choices
interesting in the find-the-car shows with three doors and one goat!
once one guess has been shown to be blank - and you are second and thought A was the rt door , then you have a higher chance if you now choose Door B ( goes up from 1/3 to 1/2 if you do that but stays at 1/3 if you "stick")
