Just caught 10 mins of comedy series DINNERLADIES, and was in hysterics at the character Bren’s mother, played by Julie Walters. Omg she was absolutely brilliant - but I guess you either loved her or hated her. Guess that goes for the whole series tbh lol.
Any others??

Watched Dinner ladies for the first time a few nights ago and Julie Walters was brilliant what a laugh she is .
Julie Walters, the best of Dinner Ladies, although the whole series was absolutely brilliant. They don’t make em like that any more.
I liked AbFab too.
Early Doors was superb Cap'n.
Dr. Frasier Winslow Crane

Frasier was far superior to Cheers.
The League of Gentlemen,Dads Army,Rising Damp, and Father Ted are probably my all time favourites.
Good northern humour, Mamya.

Also enjoyed Open All Hours, the original, not the recent remake.
Brian Potter

Phoenix Nights had some great characters.
Agreed Roy and every club and pub in Bolton had those characters - brilliant.

Bouncy Castle, wibble :-)

I think that's why I've never found Peter Kay funny, I grew up surrounded by by Peter Kays!

I’d forgotten all about AbFab!
Ah, you didn't just leave us Zebo - it was a tactical escape ? ;-)
All the characters in Open Doors

I have to say I’ve never really watched Peter Kay until recently, when I caught a bit of one of his last stand up tours on tv.
Forgot about Phoenix Nights! One of my favourites. Great characters in it, all of them. Have to love Brian Potter. :-)
Roy, I agree that Frasier was much better than Cheers, but I always thought that Niles was the better, funnier character.
Dinner ladies is my all time favourite programme.
Drop the dead donkey was also on my enjoyment list.
The trouble is that a lot of comedy programmes go on too long.A prime example was Last of the Summer Wine which should have been retired when Bill Owen (Compo) died. They brought in people like Russ Abbott who were miscast and Tom Owen who couldn't act.I used to watch a lot of sitcoms in 70's and 80's which can still be seen on UK gold and the like. However a lot of this modern stuff is lost on me.
Never got on with Dinner Ladies. I didn't like Victoria Wood. For me 'Allo 'Allo, Black Adder and Only Fools and Horses.
