Anyone watching this (thinking Gness in particular)?
Shocking behaviour by the Catholic church yet again. Babies being shipped overseas for sums of money, Mums being told their babies have died.
Why is it only now these things are being talked about.

Nuns and priests are emotional adolescents. Because of the unnatural lives they lead, coupled with undeserved adoration and indulgence, it let's the mentally unstable among them blur the notion from being God's representative on earth, to being God on earth, omnipotent and indulged well beyond the bounds of sanity and reason. Is this about the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home?
Thank you - what went on there has not only just come to light - obviously piece by piece more horrors are uncovered but it has been spoken off for some time.

Thanks, Ferlew. We don’t get ITV but can find it when we know of something we want to see. I will find this and watch.
The Catholic Church and the state have done their best to keep this hidden. Lies, threats and the burning by nuns of any records. Not that they kept records of the money they made selling babies.
Catherine Corless has been fighting to have the remains of hundreds of babies rescued from the sewage pit where they were dumped by nuns and priests.
Liam Neeson is now helping her. Let’s hope that brings more publicity to expose the evil deeds of this so called Christian organisation. It would make me happy if it brought down the Catholic Church. But I’ll make do with even more people turning from its doors than have since this came to light.
Thanks for posting….x

Sorry, I didn't know it was already widely known about.
It struck a chord with me because Mr F's father and uncle and 6 other siblings were shipped here there and thither when their mother died at an early age. They were put into a Catholic orphanage in Hampshire, and the two brothers were shipped off to Canada aged 9 and 12. (Cheap labour) some of the girls were put into service. Hmph.

I hope you manage to find the programme Gness. The brass neck of some of those nuns, they sent receipts out for monies received, 'for xmas gifts, for clothing', and so on.
Hateful crew the lot of them.

Horrific experiences for them Ferlew.
No need to apologise, Ferlew. You are not alone in not knowing what the Catholic Church, and other churches, did to mothers and babies.
I’ve known for many years but I’ve discovered more since moving to Ireland.
It’s heartbreaking listening to the words of those who were sold as cheap labour and to the women who are now wondering if the bones of their stolen babies lie in a septic tank.
Never liked nuns from early childhood, Ferlew. Even the ones I’m unfortunate enough to be related to.
I knew nothing then but it’s almost as if a sixth sense detected the evil in every one of them.
Oh and yes. I do know they continued to take money from families for the keep of a child that had died in their “care”.
I mentioned it to JJ a few days ago but don't know if she can view it.
I've recorded it so will watch tomorrow.

I have had an intense dislike for them since attending an RC school in Birkenhead in the mid 50's, a meaner, more vicious, malevolent bunch of women I've yet to meet.
My experience started at school at the age of five. They seemed to enjoy being cruel.
Question Author
Yes, I was a similar age, maybe a year or two younger.
Wonder what it was that made them so cruel??
Question Author
Tut, older - not younger.
In their nature I guess and becoming a nun in charge of little children gave them power to hurt.
Bit like the power so many priests had which allowed them to harm and abuse children.
Question Author
And all in the name of religion, yeah right, I'm a better christian than they will ever be!

Add in the arrogance and secrecy, and these situations are what grow and flourish.

We should not be surprised that such horrors go on, only that it not more accepted and commonplace than it already is.
Is it only Irish Catholics that have committed such atrocities? Did it go in other Roman Catholic countries such as Italy and France?
Fear not it is part of God's plan.
