I started to watch it tonight then saw it was episode 2 so I found the first one on catch up and I'm sure I've seen it before, maybe it was a pilot episode. Very enjoyable, I do like John Simms.

I'm a bit confused Barry (ok so it doesn't take much to confuse me)!! I watched the episode on ITV3 last week - the one where the groom was buried in the coffin - and realised I HAD seen it before lockdown I think but was there another episode maybe that I've forgotten about when his wife went missing?
Also, does anyone know how many episodes there are going to be in this new series? Thanks

Kustard, no confusion. You watched the 2nd episode of the first series that originally aired last year, not before lockdown. You missed the repeat of the first episode.

Series 2 started last night on ITV 1 and has 4 episodes

Kustard, Roy's missing wife is an ongoing sub-plot throughout the novels. Such a long time since i read them that i cannot recall in which novel the situation is resolved, but i don't believe it will be done in these next few episodes of series 2.

The mystery surrounding his first wife is revealed in book 12 or 13. Can't remember title

You don't actually see his wife, but it is a sad story explained in the later novels. Maybe they will cover it in an episode in more depth.
