Did anyone watch UC last night? I can't get over how much Radcliffe from the Durham team looks like Daniel Radcliffe the actor. Do you think they might be related?

Could be.
Yeah I did
er too busy concentrating on the questions

saw the over long prog - that was univ chall that was - Granada didnt keep any of the Bamber Grass-groin filmed ( pre recorded) programs. So the 'that-was' bit was not my generation 1962-70 but more last week.

Nothing about who did what later because no records were maintained - Somerville 1962 were amazing sex symbols for that time. Not a squeak, or er whiff.... - just about the earliest was Stephen Fry.

and they all have quizzing clubs with tutorials - - For the old baggaz Uni challenge - ( rules one olympian, cannot have appeared before), We won ( trinity hall) - I was reserve and not called, I swotted 5 dictionaries
( dic of mod history, 20th cent English Lit, Etymology, who was what in Lit, art, bally and dance.) - it is terribly terribly boring.
Who needs to know that sigilla, and calamus are Latin loan words to Arabic?
canon goes to qanwn or not

sort of like this:
Daniel Radcliffe doesn't have any siblings - so I would say it's very unlikely they are related
I can only think you meant the captain as he had a beard but beyond that no I dont see a resemblance at all. I also find Daniel Radcliffe quite ugly and odd looking.
I was more interested in a mother and son being in the UCL team - I think it was a UC first.

Here's the show, make your own mind up, i like pp disagree, i can't see a resemblance.
*sorry not pp, i meant prudie!
Yes I saw that picture, I agree very flattering but not what he usually looks like. This is more the norm

Does anyone know whether there are archives from years ago? A friend was on a team in the sixties, and I'd love to see the recording of the match if it was kept.

Thanks for sharing that, very enlightening!

Still, somebody loves him enough to have his baby ...

Why do people criticise how others look?
Exactly.
I'm glad the new presenter (Amol Rajan) has begun to record the next series - the programme badly needs an injection of oomph as Paxman is clearly struggling. Watching the the programme that came after, it was almost shocking to see just how much faster and more vibrant his presentation used to be. Rajan is a fast talker, so I hope he gees things up considerably. I've read there are new titles and music too.
I will miss Jeremy but he was becoming increasingly difficult to understand (sadly). I don’t have an issue with Amol Raman but I would have preferred Ros Atkins instead.
Rajan (bloody predictive text!!!!)
Is stating that you find someone ugly criticising? I was sharing my opinion on a light hearted thread. Hopefully Ellipsis and toorak you will continue to post all over the site at anybody else who expresses an opinion you don't like and tell them off too. Everybody in the world is beautiful, does that satisfy your virtuous natures?
> Is stating that you find someone ugly criticising

Just totally unnecessary, miserable and unkind. Light hearted? No.
