I watched Monk today, in the story he helps nail a guy for shooting a truck driver so he could recover a handgun from a car the driver was taking away. Why was the handgun so important? I missed the reason somehow! anyone know?....thanks.

It was used in a robbery at a savings and loans bank!Monk had to jump onto a moving bin wagon and pull out the trash bags to get the evidence for his friend the Captain.Aaaah or aaaaarggggh. Depending on your mushy quotient.
