80s(?) comedian

I've been trying to remember the name of a British comedian from the 80s (I think, may have been 90s). He was one of the 'rubber faced' type of comedians (bit like Jim Carrey). His particular gimmick was to impersonate an aquaphibian - one of the bad guys from the Stingray puppet series. I think he may have done other impressions as well. I particularly remember him on a chat show telling how he was doing his aquaphibian when he had a muscle spasm and couldn't undo the face he had pulled.
