Is there a watershed for nudity on the TV? Before I go any further I do not have a problem with it, just wondering. I always thought it was 9pm, but on xmas day I watched Titanic and the topless Kate Winslett scene was shown at around 2pm on RTE.

As said earlier I do not have a problem with it, but always thought there was some guidance after there was an outcry that a woman's nipple was shown on an advert before 9pm. Or does this not apply to the Irish channels?

i thought it was if it was for overt nudity that the watershed was meant for or swearing etc.i would be surprised if anyone would be offended with that particular shot to warrant removing it or showing it later.
In Titanic it was essential to the plot...thats why they allowed it
Funny how its never essential to the plot to get some blokes knob out though!!!!
Yeah, its sexual scenes that have to be after the watershed
Well said Athley!
Round about a year ago, i was watching the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet on tv, and it was on mid afternoon. I was shocked when she sat up in bed and showed her love bumps, and my chin really hit the floor when she got out of bed and showed the old butchers counter.
I sometimes wish we were all a bit more like the French, and less like the **** Americans (who get fearfully worried about any sort of flesh display). The French just don't seem to worry about this sort of thing and as a result it's a lot more healthy and less prurient (and also less hypocritical).

Anyone would think the human body was something to be ashamed of... (well, sometimes, if we don't look after it the way we should, and in my case gravity is beginning to take its toll)

Actually, thinking about it, all this fuss about nudity is a result of our standing and walking on our hind legs all those millions of years ago (any ABer who is an anthropoligist will explain this)
Oops! That should be "anthropologist". (It's late and I'm tired.)
If you ever watch anytihng with Ewen Mcgregor in it seems essential to the plot that his todger gets a small part in it ! He swapped it for a light sabre during the Star Wars movies!
