Welcome to this second week in the reign of Lady Judy, who is zooming up a steep learning curve ~ but last week she was superb! The launch was perfect and her chosen links were inventive. We are looking for "the same again" and taking one week at a time.
What will be in store for you lucky linkers tomorrow morning? Only time will tell! The site should open about 8.45 am and the four words to be linked will be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest.
The international version of this same game is called KM Links and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! Keep your eyes open for seekeerz from Oz, who works on antipodean time and is back to keep law and order among the ranks. She then collates the entries and keeps score. Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?
I am going to keep the message brief tonight as we are playing out tonight! When I return I shall check up what's been happening in The Shrubbery! So be good!
Been at Dental Hospital all afternoon! My dentist botched up some root canal treatment a few weeks ago, and they tried to re-do it...unsuccessfully. Have to go back for another attempt on 20th!!...so come on ...plenty of ahhhs please and a good stiff drink!! I enjoy a decent brandy!...hint hint!
Ah, good evening, crofter have an enjoyable evening out.
To be good in the Shrubbery is an oxymoron. You could go in there with the virtues and morals of an early saint but there would be no chance of escaping with your innocence still intact what with those pudding, choccie-eaters and Baileys swillers who lurk in there.
Go in there with the morals of a satyr and aalcoholic and you will be welcome and if your appetite is large enough you will escape, exhausted and a shell of your former shelf.
Believe me, I know it to be true - I have the scars and the dangerously enlarged liver to prove it.
Oh Pauline,
I believe a generous swilling of aqua vitae around the spot is in order.
I will see, if by sympathetic magic, if I do the same on your behalf that it helps you!
Aaah!! Pauline.... you have all my sympathy - I've got to go to the dentist on the 19th and I will have to have some work done. Probably root canel and I think I will have to have at least one crown ...... possibly two or a bridge or something equally horrible. I'm clostrophobic (Is that spelt right????) so I panic when they start shoving the instuments in my mouth. And they will have to take impressions and I panicking just thinking about. ;-((((
Good evening all.
Crofter - I just had to look up the meaning of taghairm, never heard of it. I don't fancy getting inspiration from lying in a bullocks hide behind a waterfall.
These Scots have some funny words
Good heavens, Crofter, You don't actually do it, do you? Mind you if Strix follows his usual form he might need your services by the end of the evening!
Oh crofter, now you're going Gaelic it's really not fair on the peeliewally Sassenachs, but I believe some of the ladies of the night who inhabit the Shrubbery might be, unwittingly, trying to use taghairm to divine the link words for KM and MM.
Me, my self-describing, favourite words are tatterdemallion and slubberdegullion!
Cheers
Strix
Now listen here Strix, my old china, why don't you get up the apples and pears, and wash your mouth out with soap. Any more of your 'blatherings' and I'll get in touch with your trouble and strife and she can nashgab you all round the shrubbery.
Crofter started it with "taghairm" and JRM jumped in with "gilravage" and "nashgab". My only contribution has been to place these in context and help you to possibly understand (split-infinitive intended) these north of the borders words!
Lord help us if KM ever uses any part of these as link words!
evening all, sound like Dixon of dock Green don't I?
soory to hear you are down in th mouth Pauline
cannot post you a link to some drinks as I have just downloaded internet explorer 7 and seem to be unable to copy and paste web addresses now, hope some kind soul can set me right
