Opening Picture Files
3 Answers
I recieved a free 60 day trial of Paint Shop Pro 8 with my new Dell computer. Whenever I opened picture files, this is the software that was used to open them.
Now however, the trial has run out, and I have no intention in paying out the 60 to get the software again. But now whenever I try to open a picture file, it tries to open in Paint Shop Pro 8, and its unable to be opened because the trial has finished.
How can I change it so that picture files do not automatically open up in this programme?
Thanks for you help.

It should say open with.... and a button to select from a list of programs. go down the list and choose what you would like it to open with, you have to do this for every picture file type but there are only about 3 or 4 so thats fine.
It's a bit of a change of subject but if you don't already have it, Irfanview is a free piece of software which allows you to view and edit images.
Upon installing this it'll ask you which file types to associate it with. That'd remove your problem if you associated jpg, bmp, gif and all of those image types with whichever new program you install. So too would the above suggestion, right click and "open with" and tick the box that says "always open with this program".
