If everyone did just trudge along and got on with it, wouldn't life be terribly dull. And the world would be full of doormats.
Come on nic you start the ball rolling, what's your pet hate.
And Bernardo please not the 100+ list again!!
Maybe its human nature to find something to complain/worry about, no matter how petty. Take a person who was starving and/or thirsty. Their immediate worry would be to find food/water and I very much doubt they'd be worrying about what their best friend's mother's aunt's sister said about them at a wedding for example. Then take someone who has all their basic needs catered for and in fact, really has nothing to worry about. Can they actually be content with not worrying about anything? I also think it's a sign of the times. We are forever bombarded with information on how to improve our lives. Just take a look at Channel 4 - programmes on how to improve your diet/sex life/wives/children/houses. Magazines are full of information telling us how to be better at this, that and the other. It's making us all become really an@l!
nic I agree. What really hacks me off is standing in a queue and hearing somebody behind me huffing and tutting because they are having to wait. I would rather they went first than have to put up with that. And do you ever notice how grim people can get on a wet or rainy day, as if the flipping rain can alter your whole day!
A sunny outlook, a smile or some basic good manners go an awful long way and I wish more people would give them a go sometimes.
In my opinion I believe people just complain for complaining sake however, I have the view that you don't know what is happening in other peoples lives. You don't know what they've been through, what they've had to experience in life etc.
Just bite your lip but dont take any abuse. It's one thing for someone to complain and another when they become abusive or violent.
Kind regards
Katherine
Loosehead - I wasn't making a sweeping statement, it is based on the things I have seen and heard. Ok maybe it was wrong of me to catorgrise (spelt wrong I know) all people in this, but we are a bunch of whinging people. We all moan and groan about being taxed to the hills, moan about the petrol prices, moan about the law and order of this country and moan moan moan moan moan about anything and everything. All I am saying is that if people are going to moan then do something about it not just sit on our bums, we need to get a force going where everybody stands united but that will never happen.
Some people complain for the sake of it. In England you wouldn't encounter this, but in parts of Asia drivers use their horn for the most absurd reasons. Even if you are at a roundabout and have stopped to give way to the traffic from your right, there are some mindless drivers behind you who would sound their horn.
Similarly, if you want to turn left but the way is not clear because the rear end of the bus in front of you is in your lane, there are some people behind who sound your horn, as though they want you to squeeze past the bus and the pavement like a piece of rubber.
