Radio 2. Jeremy Vine in Scotland with a pipe band waiting for the Olympic flame to boy, can I hear a note from your bagpipe. Oh thats very good. To second musician Thats a very different type of bagpipe, whats it called?..... 'A drum!'
Jeremy Vine is as thick as the proverbial two short planks.Coupled with the fact he loves the sound of his own voice it came as no surprise he made such a statement. Also what is wrong with the BBC, sending a team to Scotland so we could hear the Olympic flame go past !!
I'm a big fan of Jeremy Vine. Considering his radio show is not only topical but live AND a phone in, he handles it very well. He is knowledgeable of most topics and has great empathy.
That is not an easy job he has.
Nevertheless HC4631 he did ask about a different type of bagpipe which was a drum. Even his fans must agree that it,s not a very bright question or answer for someone who apparently so brilliant!
Oh come on... Everyone makes a tool of themselves every now and then. We wouldn't be human otherwise. I bet he was scarlet when he realised what he came out with.
He went to Wales last week so we could see the Olympic flame go past and got on the wrong train. Instead of the local stopping one he got on the three hour non stop to sheffield. Do we have to have a topical programme that has the presenter in London "helping" a gardener in Wales pulling up carrots?
Considering he is very knowledgeable about music, and played in a band I find that hard to believe. Was this on radio? Is it confirmed he was talking to the drummer?
HC4631 If you read my original note you will find it was on radio 2 earlier this week when he was sent to Scotland to welcome the Torch. I fouind it funny, you are obviously too serious. Are you perhaps Mrs Vine. TTFN
