Off to solicitor......
Question Author
well that's cheered me up...just saw my next door neighbour coming in and I asked her if she'd found the magazines I'd popped through the door for her...silly question really, she couldn't have missed them. She clapped her hands to her face in horror and told me she thought the paper boy had delivered them by mistake & she'd taken them back to the shop....they were months old and the crosswords were done, hahahaha....

good luck woofy...
Off out with Meggie. Will call in later to find out how you got on Robi. It's horrible waiting isn't it. Some people say they do a lot to stop themselves worrrying - but me - I just get more and more worked up and sometimes have worked myself up so much, I can't face the appointment and phone and cancel!! Me, I am an ostrich!!

yes, that me Lottie :o(
Hope you got on okay Robi. My solicitor is a lovely man. Very chatty and jovial. He is getting me a thing called a medallion stamp on my signature so I can access some american shares. There is only one place in the UK that does it and to me it is quite important. To him is is interesting and a nice change from what he normally does. I had to write a cheque today for the firm who has the medallion stamp and i asked him at the same time what his fee was so I could pay him. "dunno he said, so far its about a quid" we have agreed that when I actually have the paperwork back he will charge me according to how much work he has done. This after he had done the research and initial contact with the firm and the half hour of his time I took up today.
Glad you got on OK Woofy.

I have been amusing myself looking for things I could wear to a summer wedding and decided that I really do hate dresses so it will have to be flared floaty trousers again I think. I want to wear jeans!!

No signs of our Robi yet. I'll call back later.

Took Meggie out and I felt absolutely dreadful, every joint clicked and ached and my back and head hurt - didn't go very far. Had one of those swimmy hot 'I need sugar' things too. Feel better now after pushing down some chocolate biscuits!!

<simmering quietly>...remind me not to go in the afternoon again, I should have learned my lesson the last time I did that....morning only Robi.
Only my doc (and a nurse) in, he was running half an hour late when I arrived:o(. I optimistically thought he might catch up but oh no, two of the three before me took forever and the other one (if I'm any judge lol) was there for the snotty cold she was coughing everywhere. He got rid of her sharpish.

Very quick consultation for me, bp a bit up, tapped out a prescription for beta blockers...gleefully informed me he'd never had a migraine....I came out forgetting to ask for dizzy pills....grrr ....called at the chemist and they didn't have them in, I've got to go back tomorrow to pick them up!! aggghh!

<ohhhhhmmmm>

Glad your day seemed to end on a happier note than when it started woofy.
Question Author
*can't remember what the pills are, I left the prescription there, something beginning with A but not amlodipine
Oh dear Robi, that's what happens to me - I tend to forget what I went for. I also always bounce it looking healthy and smiley which sort of negates everything. The bouncy smileyness is just an act which cover up the nervous state I'm in.

If I don't feel better than I do now, I am going to bed with the duvet over my head. Why did I make myself go for a walk!!
Hi All. I'm pleased about your trip to the solicitors was ok Woofy. And Robi over the years I've learnt to take notes when I go to the Dr. because I think I'll ask him about something and then I forget when I'm there. I don't mean a great list. Just a reminder on a bit of paper.
Went out at 10 this morning and got back at about 4.30. Had a lovely chicken chasseur (sp) with mash and veg this lunch time really home madeish. I didn't see anything that was microwaved or frozen.
Then I went to see my sister's new house. I don't mean new built just new to where she was living. That's 3 moves in 2 years. And they are all cottagey type places.
Then I went to Boots and 2 Sainsburys looking for Amazon gift cards. But they had only got £50 ones which I didn't want. The recipient's birthday is on Thursday so it looks like I'll be nipping to town after tomorrow's lunch out. I'm going to meet my wordprocessing teacher who I met 20 years ago at night school. My first introduction to computers. We meet up once a year for a chat. I'm going to the other side of town. I hope she knows where we're going cos I'm not up on the pubs and restaurants over there.
Anyway Biddyfriends Football on Sky for me tonight. So I'll see yer later 'gater(s)
Have a good night all.
Jude you can buy them online and just print them off or email them. (amazon vouchers)
Robi I am another one who takes notes to and at the docs. I also suggested to all my patients when I worked. My experience is that gps love it as usually they feel they can do a better job if the patient has done some preparation to be sure that all the important things get covered. They also feel more sure that they have been understood and that their suggestions and comments will be understood and maybe even followed!
a list of things to ask the doctor? We're only allowed to present one problem per visit (though I have been known to ignore this). Takes about a week to get an appointment, so for urgent stuff I go the "walk-in" centre (about 5 miles away so I don't walk).

When I moved in here, I just walked in to see the GP, he didn't even have a receptionist. I wonder how it all went wrong.
I usually take a note of everything that i want to ask the doc about, and then only ask the first two cos I get embarrassed by such a long list!
My News Years resolution is to not to go the doctors unless I'm crawling on all fours and gasping for breath .
I've seen enough of doctors and hospitals this last 18 months ,though having said that I have an appointment for the leg clinic on Friday ,from which ,I hope I'll be discharged as my leg is still attached to my body .

I'm pleased he's given you something Robinia .I hope it does the trick .
Glad you got on well too Woofy although that's a bummer with your car :(
Haven't done a lot today really .Just bumbling around .
I may bumble off to bed dreckly ,so will wish you all a Good Oight .

Morning all...oooh, shaney's turned into a dolly peg with a floating head, haha....I'd like a head that floats away somedays.
I see that beta blockers are becoming what looks like a common treatment for the prevention (not cure) of migraines. Well fancy that, I hope they work but I'm not confident....and there could be side effects. I did jot a few keywords on a piece of paper but forgot to add what I'd have liked as a solution. I'll ring in a bit and see if the nurse can get a prescription.
I rarely come out of the surgery feeling relieved or confident anymore. Hey ho, I've told them, more than once, so there's not a lot I can do apart from marching into A&E the next time I'm crawling the walls. And I just might do that.

Right, the washer's bumping around the kitchen, I'd better get moving in case I'm about to develop a floating head. :o)
Hope everyone's as well as you can be today....
Question Author
oh, I don't know what meds you're on shaney but I'll have some, you're back to normal now :o)
Morning all. My heaps seem to be on the mend except the itch has been driving me mental. Still I go back to see my man on Monday. Hopefully everything will be better by then.
Thanks for the advice about Amazon gift cards Woofy. I tried last night and they wouldn't accept my Credit Card even though I'm a regular customer. So this morning I went into the local small Co-op and they had the last £25 one in. The assistant didn't even know that they sold them. But there it was with 'my name on'. So card and pressie now despatched I'm happy to say.

Off to do some tidying up now then out to meet my friend for lunch.
Forgot to tell you last night about 11.00 my lovely sister skyped me from New Zealand and I had a chat with my niece and her daughter. I t was lovely and the picture was clearer than when my sister skypes me from 5 minutes walk away. Amazing. They were sitting there in their summer clothes.
Right I'm really off now see yer later 'gater(s) Have a pain free and good day.
Good morning folk.

That's so lovely that you had a chat with your sister and niece Jude. I wish my lovely auntie in australia had a computer and I could chat with her and see her. I miss her a lot.

Guess what, my Blue Badge has been approved!! It did take almost three months, but I got there.

Am off out to lunch with friend today - my friend who is having the chemo treatment. She is due for her fifth and penultimate session of chemo tomorrow, which means she will be ill for a week whilst she takes a week's worth of drugs. I admire her such a lot, she never complains and still carries on with her busy life as normal whenever possible with a smile on her face. Hopefully, these sessions will put her into remission for 5 years.

See you later.
x
I would send my Aunt the money to set her up with a computer, but she doesn't think she would cope and doesn't even want to try :o(
