I went to Waitrose this afternoon after selling the car. I wanted some oranges and they had huge ones but they all felt amazingly soft. I couldn't tell if they were a new breed or if they were all about to go off. I ended up going to M&S instead.

I didn't order fresh stuff. I like to feel my oranges too :)
Just store cupboard things the like of which we don't get in Morrisons and frozen stuff ,some very delicious looking desserts and ready meals plus some continental breads which can be frozen.

Good night Biddybuddies. My heating is officially set for the winter. 20° to get up to. 16°during the day to keep the chill off and then18° adjusted upwards sometimes til 10.30 then off til 6.30a.m. then it all starts again. I'm daft or what?!

Waitrose (at least mine are) are quite trustworthy when it comes to fresh. Over this summer when it was too hot to take the dogs out in the car and too hot to leave them shut up at home, Waitrose did me pretty well.
I christened the new mixer today with a ginger cake Tomorrow I will ice it with lemon icing with bits of chopped ginger in it.

Jno have you put a spycam in my house? We were actually waiting for some paint to dry this afternoon. Well b-i-l sat and watched it while we nipped out to buy some dimpled knobs and a maximum security bird feeder.... as you do on a miz Friday afternoon.

I'm watching the paint dry on here .Mr S and I will be conversing in German tomorrow in Morrisons .I'll report back as to anybody being offended. I might also wear my poppy brooch :)
For gawds sake ....some people have worries .
Wasn't going to mention it but had a phone call from Mr S's cousin yesterday.We don't see them often as they're busy working etc . but keep in touch.He's her only blood relative left from her Mum ,MiL's sister and she lives out in the villages. No more close relations really ,only us and her daughters,as she was an only child.Her husband dropped dead from a heart attack aged 57 on Wednesday.Very sad.

Hello all
Another dreary damp day.I wish it would brighten up a bit.
Wish I could brighten up too ...still awake at 3am. Bgr this .It's a nightmare ..lol.I heaved myself up at around 7.30 though so if I keep trucking I might get a better night tonight.Failing that I'll take 800mg and monitor the situation.

Hello again, sis arrived safely, I couldn't believe the amount of planes and tourists still arriving, I am in winter mode! Sis was laden with lots of stuff for me, my friends sent over 3 prs of boots, a tasselled hippie waistcoat, sis brought the fab new iron, loads of quality street, and Roses chocs, liquorice allsorts etc for xmas, of course one bag of allsorts has strangely disappeared and I feel sick!! It was sunny but feels a bit damp now and overcast. Sis slept in the airport all night (she won't book a hotel in case she oversleeps, I've told her they will wake her and shuttle her to airport but she won't listen!) so she was there 8 hrs. She is now asleep and think I'll join her, well not literally you know!

Bust day here. I just realised I have got new tumbledryer coming monday and car going off for service tuesday. Car needs emptying and the huge dog cage removing and the filth digging out, but I can't do any of that until tumbledryer is in place and old one removed and I don't know when they are coming with the dryer. I have done as much as I can today and will do some car clearance tomorrow. Then on Thursday, the man is coming to service the water softener....honestly first world problems......
