Pointless

Last night a couple won £14,750 and had three pointless answers in the final.

Zander asked them what would they do with the money if they won BEFORE the first answer was revealed. I have only seen him ask that question before the second answer is revealed so he must have been told the first answer was pointless.

Does anyone know if he has an earpiece so he can be told thhe result or does Richard give him a signal that the first answer is pointless?

I think you`ll find he asks the question randomly.

Thanks Tommy. You may very well be right but I can't remember the last time he asked that question before the first answer was revealed and it would be a big coincidence to do that when three pointless answers were on the board. Don't you think?

I think you are right, I have got lots of Pointless programmes recorded and he does usually ask before 2nd question

Funny you should say that I thought they have won when the other night he did that but alas they did not win it was 12,500 I think in that show

Tennis grand slam winners in 1990s. They were asked what subjects they would like and she said tennis, then tennis came up!

Yes, Zander does have an earpiece (as does Richard). Richard is actually just a 'frontman'...the 2 question setters/verifiers are up in the production gallery so they can talk to Z & R via the earpieces (though Richard does have a list of answers in front of him). I know this from having been on the show.

maybe they record that bit before the final question is asked and then edit it into the final broadcast version at the appropriate point

He is tall Mazie (about 6' 7"). I'm 6' 3" and felt small next to him!

No they don't bb...its all done as seen on screen...just 5 minute breaks to reset the studio for each round (new podiums etc).

How did you get on sddsddean? I don't mean how did you apply! How far did you get in the show?

I'm not really supposed to say (contractural reasons etc....bl00dy paperwork!)as my brother and I are on the new series which starts on Wednesday. Our show is near the end. I think we have worked out it will be mid November(!), so still a bit of time to wait. Shall I just say we were very happy and wondered if we'd dreamt it!!
