After the first episode we were all concerned about the Olly's scarf, but that now seems to have been a red herring. After 6 episodes I'm beginning to tire of the relentless angst-ridden faces and total bleakness, though of course I shall hang in there.
At least we now know how Baptist came by his limp.
Now confused about the evidence in the envelope. When they paid that horrible chap 15000 euros Baptist said there hadn't been any evidence, but it looked like that was what he was nbeaten up for at the end.
Puzzled 54. the evidence had been stolen by that other policeman who did a sort of deal with the bearded English journalist. What with all the switching of the time zones, it takes some concentration, still as Veebird says I'm hooked aswell.
In 2006, the journalist left the envelope at the desk and Baptist took it out to the car where he got beaten up by the bad policeman, and he must have ended up with the envelope cos the English detective came to his aid and unmasked the attacker. My point was that when they spoke to the nasty man that they paid (present time), Baptist said he didn't know of any evidence. You can see why I am confused!
We now know where Tony has been between then and now, - in a French prison (though he still can't speak French).
But if all this wasn't enough mystery, I'm wondering how Karl Sieg thinks he is going to run a (clapped out?) 15,000 Euro Aston Martin on the proceeds of his failing bar.
Also in case you were beginning to wonder about the locations, I have discovered (IMDB) that it was all shot in Belgium not France.
I don't think it was the evidence in the envelope. The envelope the band policeman handed the journalist and the envelope that was handed to the police were different sizes.
I think the journalist had evidence of something to do with a missing child in Morocco involving the bad policeman and that's what he handed in to the police.
But as Baptiste gave the envelope with the shirt back to Tony (as he'd suffered enough) how come you say he's been in prison ? What am I not understanding? Khandro ?
It's my own fault for not giving it 100% attention when it was on that I am utterly lost. I have now realised I will miss the last episode as I will be on holday abroad. Are we all assuming this is just going to be about what happened to the boy and who did it and any hopes that he's been alive all along are nil?
whirlyhurly; //how come you say he's been in prison ?//
Someone, I think it was Baptiste, said very quickly words to the effect of "You have been in prison". I remember myself exclaiming "Ah Ha!"
Didn't anyone else hear it?
Just as you wonder what the heck is all that about, it is explained if you can hang in there and remember who everybody is and what year it's on. I had to re-watch some of the second episode I was so confused. But if the awful Ian whatsisname (Ken Stot) isn't involved, who is? I thought he had survived and was in the Indian Ocean but got that wrong. Don't think it's Victor it will be somebody unlikley. I do hope that blood is not Oliver's but I can't see how they can find him alive and well without losing all credibility. Mind you that scarf incident took some swallowing. OK it was spotted in a photo, but how many second hand clothes shops record all their stock in a big hand written ledger these days? Anyway we'll have to wait for next week.
