hi, plz help me with the broadband problem i'm experiencing for the past 7 weeks. I'm with sky wireless broadband for about 12 months now. There were no problems with connection for the first 10months, and then the problem started. Although the broadband connection shows as connected with full strength, i'm unable to open any internet pages. No matter what website I try to access, it comes up with the error 'The page cannot be displayed'. It goes on from 15mins up to 2hrs, then suddenly it opens pages successfully. During this time the connection never falls. I contacted their support desk, but they bloody useless. Pls can somebody advise a solution to this problem. Should i change my ISP, if so, how would you recommend??

1) What operating system?
2) Does your computer connect straight to the modem via USB or ethernet, with no router in between?
3) As a quick-fix test, try changing your settings to openDNS, using the instructions here:
https://www.opendns.com/start

(you don't have to create an account or anything though, just change your DNS IP addresses as they say -- it's easy.)
Are you using the filters they gave you ?
also try this site i also found sky support desk useless.
But this does depend on what time of day you ring....

many thanx for your responses. I have Windows XP. Yes I use the filters they provided. I use USB stick to connect to the wireless BB modem and no router in between. I'll try and change DNS settings and as suggested and let you know.
