I admit to watching a few of the JK shows when I first semi-retired a few years back, but as Lottie says, once you've seen a couple, the rest are all the same - very boring & tedious.
It doesn't matter where you go Sqad, you will always find some people with mouths like sewers & no morals - &/or small groups of wayward youngsters trying to impress their mates & people the around them.
I popped into our local Asda on Saturday to buy a magazine & a group of teenage boys & girls were outside shouting, screaming & shaking pop bottles, then squirting them over the windows & splashing shoppers. I was only in there a couple of minutes, but nabbed one of the Managers & asked if he could do something about the rowdy kids outside - he said I was the fourth person to ask the same question & was already on his radio to security following it up.
Thankfully, the majority of kids are respectful normal human beings.

lofty...well written reply, but had nothing to do with the topic. What has Spanish kids got to do with the Jeremy Kyle show in UK? I was not comparing or contrasting youth of various countries, as you clearly assumed.
The topic was to discuss UK of today compared with the previous generation.
NoKno you are an intellect of the highest order and your contributions to a thread are invaluable.
Yes, I live in Spain, but wherever you live there are pluses and minuses, whether it be Australasia or the Americas. I try to support my country of birth, sometimes it is easy, sometimes it is very difficult.
"Rose Coloured Spectacles" is an oft used phrase for me, but all I am trying to do is to compare two differing generations and their place in society.........have we improved or has the Welfare State been a failure.
Yes, I "p1ss people off at times, but that is the nature of the beast and one can't make omelettes without cracking eggs.

They're all appearing on tv in front of millions.... they don't even bother to dress up. Most of them slob on in track bottoms, or jeans & t-shirt with muffin tops or beer bellies hanging out. The women have their bra straps showing, and most of them look as though they haven't brushed their hair. Do the producers encourage them to 'dress down' or do they not have any self-respect at all?
As for their behaviour, language and airing their dirty linen - words often fail me.
