I haven't rang them, boxy because they will say, 'Bring it in, we'll have a look'............and charge me, no doubt. It's the main dealership garage and they charge a fortune for everything they do.
It was a second service. Maybe they just tightened something up.
I'd still query it, it shouldn't be charged for again if it relates to the service. If they overtightened something (and you can tell I'm not techy!) then it could bring its own set of problems.
Tilly, that is so strange as the exact same thing happened to me too. I had my car serviced and now the brakes are squeaking, I thought the same as you in as such as if I took it back it might incur further expenditure and I've only just shelled out over £300. I have been waiting to see if they would settle down but it seems to be getting worse, might drop by the garage today so will let you know how I get on.
The service and the brakes are quite possibly not connected. I do not think they adjust brakes at a service just engine maintenance, oil, spark plugs etc.
Difficult to diagnose the problem without more specifics about the symptoms, Tilly.
Front brakes squeaking?
Rear Brakes squeaking?
All four squeaking?
Squeaking -only- when the brakes are applied?
Squeaking -only- when the brakes are -not- applied?
Squeaking all the time
Squeaking randomly off and on with no apparent cause?
Can we safely assume that your car is -not- a high-performance model with disc brakes on all four wheels?
I know this sounds daft but I don't know which brakes are squeaking. I just know they squeak when I apply the brakes.
It's a Vauxhall Zafira. Does it have disc brakes all round?
Hypo: high performance with discs on all for wheels? What century are you in? LOTS of non-performance cars have discs all round.
methyl: whether wheels are removed, or not, depends on whether it's specified in the schedule. Many don't specify wheel removal until the fourth service (odd as it sounds)
