Tilly....just use your air con all the time..... :-)

I worry about the battery, Gness.
It's recommended that you run the air-con regularly even in winter to avoid problems with the pump seizing up (very expensive).
Air-con will not affect the battery - it's a completely separate system run directly off the engine.

I didn't know that, bhg, thank you. That's a big help.
Why?....My car's twelve years old......I never turn off the air con....it keeps the air inside nicer and fresher.....and with the one exception of a mistake by a man my battery is always fine.....can't think what it'd do to a battery but others may.....I'm no car expert...
If you only ever do short journeys then do go for the occasional long drive.....give it a blast... :-)
I think Tina Turner had the same problem........something to do with body heat ;-)
Heated front seats won't affect the dampness but they are a heavy drag on the electrics. Most alternators nowadays are powerful enough to cope even in traffic.
If you have floor mats, check underneath for dampness.
Moisture wont evaporate if it is covered by a rubber backed mat.
Ah....Bhg has given you the answer.....and listen to him about winter air con....
I have some friends who are mean with the air con and then end up with, as Bhg says.....expensive problems....x

Would anyone like to take my car for a spin along the motorway? :-)
What were you doing on the back seat last night?
Let's put it this way; 20 years ago the air-con pump on my Vauxhall Omega failed - £500. I have a strange noise at some revs on my current Volvo - garage says £1000 for a new pump and recommends I ignore it.

Corylus, it wasn't me! :-)
She'd not fess up if it was her, Cory..... ;-)

I'll take you for a drive, Tilly......a long fast drive......?..... x
OK Tilly2 if you say so........
Question Author
Thanks, Gness. I'll stay at home and make you a nice cup of tea for when you get back. :-)
Wuss!... ;-)
My car steams up sometimes overnight too, just wonder what I'm missing here.
Question Author
I am, you know that. :-)
