I've just bought a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Club (53 plate) which comes with built in radio cassette player. It has steering wheel controls for the player but I want to put a cd player in. Where can I purchase a reasonably priced compatible cd player which will work with the steering wheel controls? Would I have to go through Vauxhall?

Hi buddy...no not at all. Youre not bound by Vauxhall purely to make sure your steering controls work. You can purchase a wide variety of CD players from many manufacturers, and all you need to do is ask for the connection lead for your steering controls. These are easily obtained from shops such as Halfords, and easy to connect and fit. You may also need to check and see if you need power and speaker connector converters that will ensure tidy connections from Vauxhall's standard to the international standard ISO connections found on new stereos. Hope this answers your question!
