hi i have a bmw diesel an it has sucked in water i have been told it has bent some rod and it neeeds 6 things replaced it is 6 cyclinder if it maked a different thanks

When water has been in the cylinder, when the pistons try to compress the fuel/air mixture, but theres water there, it doesnt compress. This bends the conrods.

Depending on how many cylinders this has happened in will depend on how many conrods will require replacing.

hi i have lifted the head off and there is 6 pistons 2 are down at the same level the next 2 are down at the same level but 1 is down further than the rest i believe they work in pairs that is waht makes me believe the piston that is down the furtherst is the 1 with the bent connecting rod is it a big job replacing the connecting rod

Hi Dee, you have one big job in store here, the top has to come off, + the sump to get at the Conrods/Big end caps, Dig you drive through a flood?
