immobiliser problem

Key fob of my V reg rover 400 has failed and as a result I can't start the car because of the immobiliser. I can't find my user's manual and so I suspect this is going to cost me an arm and a leg to have put right unless there are any ways around it. Even bypassing the immobiliser forever would do if it is possible.

If I can't find anything cheaper than the £72 I have seen advertised online then I'll just scrap the car.

If I wasn't so peed off I'd laugh at the irony of this anti-theft device making my car currently as much use to me as if it were stolen.

Any advice welcomed :o)
