So I drove up to London this afternoon.

I put my bike in the back of the car, parked in Marylebone ... and made a few calls, dropped off some documents, went to a few shops ... on my bike.

Confession ...

I'm usually very well behaved on my bike ... riding it as if it was a car ... waiting at lights, etc.

But today ... I was a bit of a bandit.

A few "up the pedestrian precincts"

One or two "wrong way up the one way streets"

A handful of "sneaky turning left when the lights are on red"

A "short cut across the park"

Quite a lot of "undertaking the traffic"

And a bit of "riding on the edge of the pavement"

I know you shouldn't, but ... it felt VERY liberating !!!

Think of it this way:

*As a cyclist* - did you ASK for pedestrian precincts, one way streets, traffic lights, non-cycling park routes, lane discipline and pavements to be come between you and your destination ?

(If anyone has a go at me when I cycle the wrong way down a one-way street I always shout this back at them - "I'M ONLY GOING ONE WAY !!")
I would give you a good spanking.
Most interesting thread of the week, it puts my fathers day/day off well into the shade.
doc, i'm sure, will be riveted reading this
Hi JJ - would you feel proud of a bit of shoplifting?

Some of these things are traffic offences - I think it's "driving furiously", but perhaps new judge can give us better info.

venator ...

I didn't feel proud. I felt a bit ashamed.

But I felt VERY liberated.
Joggerjayne........you're going daaaaaarn.
I think you had better go and stand on the naughty step for a bit. If you don't get punished in some way you will always feel guilty and wont get closure.
AP - great - I must remember that for my grandsons.

"going daaaaaarn"

Mrs Chappie gets the horrid London accent spot on !

Obviously I'd prefer to be "nicked" by a nice Sussex policeman, who'd tell me I was ...

... going "dine" ... !

"you will always feel guilty and wont get closure"

There is simply no parallel universe in which that is true.
I didn't think there was. It was just a joke. Personally I would feel great just getting away with it. Jubilant even!!
