I had a punto that worked well for all the above, I now have a KA, great but not sure how it is in the snow as haven't had to use it yet x
a nice car there, Trim, I was going to suggest a Churchill tank
My KA was fine last winter. I don't drive far though.

Serious answers lads !! Dear oh dear....boys boys boys....

I just googled that Trim....nice car...lol
I have a Chevrolet Spark which I drive to work and back each day, only 2 wheel drive mind you - the standard wheels look pretty cr4p, although I got some nice wheels (alloys) put on straight away, and it's great for that kind of weather - pencil thin wheels, glides through snow and ice........

Hope this helps.

Or steal it...lol
Surprisingly ... 2CV's are good in the snow : )

Good ground clearance
Skinny tyres
Engine/weight over driving wheels.
Purple, believe it or not, any car in winter is as good as the person's right foot, the way you brake / steer, the car I have gets called for winter driving I have had the car 4 years & never had no bother, with winter coming always be prepared for the worse, Shovel, salt, flask, Mobile that is charged & most important a couple of blankets, You may think I'm joking! I was in many hold up in snow & seeing people cold in their cars, a bit of thought goes a long way.
My KA was good in the snow and ice too.. I just got my tax renewal letter today and it's going to cost £130 for a year which is not bad at all. As for insurance I don't think I could give you an accurate description as ive only been driving for a year and half and am under 21. It was £1100 the first time and this year it halfed :) x
Insurance - £300 FC for both of us.
My insurance is fully comp as well.. It always turns out cheaper than 3rd party for some reason lol
My Daihatsu Sirion got me through some sticky weather last winter.
Rather than suggest a particular car I might say that mud & snow winter tyres make a lot of difference to any car in snow and slushy ice conditions. As for ice itself then studded tyres are the only thing that can help to some degree.

Yes, I agree it is dependent on the driver and how well the car is driven/handled. Thanks for all your answers so far...
