Noted yesterday a small group of people paying particular attention to the manner in which an Audi convertible was parked at an angle in a town centre parking area with its front in one bay and its rear in another. Someone commented it had been there for a while whilst others were looking to park. Eventually this female came and was getting in when another lady told he that she was fortunate not getting a ticket, to which the driver said, "THEY WON'T GIVE ME A TICKET BECAUSE I'VE NOT BEEN SHOWN HOW TO PARK"

Yes quite so, Dave. And the lady in question would have had absolutely no chance of a successful appeal on the basis that she "had not been shown how to park". Of course more than that her contention that she would not receive a ticket for this reason is about as ridiculous as it can get becuase the parking wardens have no knowledge of her education in such matters...

Presumably she did not read the Highway Code prior to taking her test (should she have taken one). Although para 254 does not advise drivers to park wholly within marked bays (rather than straddling more than one) it does say "...parking will be within separately signed and marked bays".

Hello Judge. I appreciate what you say only in this county the signs stipulate that a penalty will be incurred if vehicle not properly parked within the bays. Motorists regularly show pictures in the local papers instances where tickets had be issued for their vehicle wheels had been only inches over the bay lines and their appeals being refused.

Yes Judge I totally agree, she was very lucky because the wardens in this area are most keen and was old enough to know better and not take chances
Thank you for your participation..
deaths too good for them.

TTT These are the people who get away with it but cause 'road rage'. Total disregard for others. Thanks for your comment
if someone cannot park in marked bays then they should not be driving. If they make a super idiotic comment like you report here then they really should be in broadmoor. I hate selfish parking idiots with a passion, take 2 spaces when one will do, then blame anyone but themself. Like I said death's too good for them!

I agree and hope she's reading.
