Hi I drive a seat Leon and my gf today unlocked my car to retrieve her phone when she reported that the windows went down by themselves as she did so, I googled the issue and discovered that this is a feature of some cars if you unlock them a certain way am thinking that as my gf hardly ever unlocks my car and she turns the key in a different way to her own she has discovered this
Why do car manufacturers put such unessential nonsense on cars? Is it so there is more chance of them going wrong and they are in league with car mechanics who then charge huge prices to right the problem? Maybe I'm just a dinosaur :)
If you press the 'unlock' button on the key fob and keep it pressed, all the windows (and sun roof) will open fully on my car. This, I assume, is to help get some air into the vehicle on a hot sunny day. Needless to say, I barely use it!!
Many modern cars have these unusual features available, but not always enabled. You could have many "odd"optional features enabled/disabled by any VW group garage with their VCDS. See details here...
Yep there are some interesting / unusual features these days usually operated from the key fob, I used to own a Saab convertible and I could lower and raise the roof from the key fob ( enabled by a Saab main dealer ).
