Fiat 500
Has anyone got any opinions on the Fiat 500? It seems like a nice little car and I will be able to get it in my garage. I have a Honda Civic at the mo, and I have to manoeuvre it so much and when the car is nearly in the garage, I have to get out and put the wing mirrors in. Sounds ridiculous I know.

Wife has had hers for 5 Years now and loves it, good driving position for her, as you say easy to get in the garage, and parking is a doddle,. I think I would sum it up by saying a perfect car for running around town etc, only cost in the 5 years have been service and MOT charges, nothing else. Very reliable.
Bear in mind that Fiat cars have a dismal reliability record and Fiat dealers are poorly rated (not my opinion....from Which?).
If I wanted a small car with decent reliability and a very good dealer rating, I'd go for this......

I echo gingejbee - I'd happily hire one for city use (a bit scary on the Autostrada in something so small), but my experience of Fiat dealers is not good and longevity does not seem a key feature built into Italian cars.
The new Mazda 2 is a cracking car - about 3.5 inches wider than the Fiat 500 (including mirrors) - but I've had impeccable service and reliability.
