Mobile 'phones
I am the only person who has noticed more people using hand held mobile 'phones whilst driving.
I do 50 miles on the motorway each day and I see at least 10 a day. I wouldn't mind if it was only their lives they were putting at risk.
Make it a 250 fine and 6 penalty points and they might stop.

It's the blatant disregard of the law and the danger to other road users that really gets on my nerves. One minute they're driving along the motorway at a reasonable speed; the next minute, they've slowed up considerably - you pull out to overtake and guess what? The driver's on the phone. Very, very dangerous.
Many people can't push supermarket trolleys safely while they are using their phones, so I don't know how they expect to cope with a car.
mdoo98 - good point, but the phone is a start. For many reasons I would like smoking to be confined to the person's home. Not sure about eating though - I admit to popping the occasional sweet in my mouth.
You say chance it and take the consequences mdoo98. Sadly, it is often other road users who pay the consequences of inconsiderated drivers. If people want to use the mobile 'phone whilst driving, let them ensure that it themselves that are killed or seriously injured.
The same applies to drink drivers and others who consider themselves above the law.
Your point on smoking and eating behind the wheel is a valid one.
Yes it's really annoying when you find the reason someone is driving really slow is because they are on the mobile. It is always sods law your phone won't ring all day but as soon as you get into your car and start driving it will ring. I don't usually answer mine but if I do when I am stuck in traffic, I quickly tell them I am driving and ask them to phone me later. Actually, it is a good excuse to get rid of people even if you are not really driving I have found out.
