I fill the Beemer tank up and drive until its 1/4 then fill it up again. Wife does the same in the Jag.

It will get more and more, soon the poor will be driven off the road. But that is what the Green eco lobby want.

unleaded £1.53 at the local service station on Monday, but Tesco had run out (temporarily, I think).

Just been out to pick some bits up. Popped into Sainsburys and filled up. £1.489 49.67 l cost me £73.96. Not too bad.

There is absolutely no increase in fuel costs - I went to the pump yesterday and my usual €20 top-up still cost €20 - I can't see what all the fuss is about ....

Many on here are probably retired so no commuting mileage and Covid has probably limited long distance family visits & other recreational trips. Since retiring my mileage has dropped from 12,000 pa to around 7,000 pa and much less than that in the past 2 years. In fact I have done only 1500 miles since MoT last August. So my spending on fuel has fallen considerably.
Of course increases will impact the price of goods in the shops but that is shared with everyone.
There comes a point when having car hardly seems worth it except for the convenience.
